Ron Cormier and Paul Lang, respectively president and secretary of the Greater Shediac Chamber of Commerce founded in May 2012, were very pleased to unveil their new logo during a breakfast meeting held on September 19. Many models were created by Dupuis Printing before the committee finally chose the new logo. The original design, featuring a lobster and the sea, was done by graphic artists Stéphanie Carroll and David Chenard.
Mr. Cormier, owner of Shediac Bay Cruises, is happy to see that 60 businesses are now members of the Greater Shediac Chamber of Commerce. He says that the small Town of Shediac, with its unique character, is growing rapidly. He wants the town to keep its uniqueness and he is happy to see that the members of the Greater Shediac Chamber of Commerce area will be invited at the discussion table.
There is a potential of 400 businesses in the Greater Shediac area and Mr. Cormier would be more than happy to see 50% of them become members of his organization, giving him more negotiation power. He has the intention to survey all the members to find out their needs and expectations from the Greater Shediac Chamber of Commerce, the voice of the business community in relation to economic development. He is also planning to meet members on a personal basis during the next few months to initiate a dialogue with each and every one.
The Greater Shediac Chamber of Commerce is currently working on the creation of a web site. Work is in progress and there is hope that it could be in operation before the end of the year 2012.
